In July of 2007, Jan Lisiecki was the 12-year-old winner of the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition.  This was his first performance at Snowmass Chapel.  Now, nearly 7 years later, Jan is the 19-year-old world traveler, delighting international audiences with his astonishingly mature interpretations of the great master works of the keyboard. Feb 18 Jan Lisiecki

Already recognized around the world for his poetic and mature playing, 17-year-old Jan Lisiecki has received several awards, including the 2010 Révélations Radio-Canada Musique and the 2011 Jeune Soliste des Radios Francophones. He has signed an exclusive recording agreement with Deutsche Grammophon at age 15 and his debut recording will feature Mozart’s Piano Concertos no. 20, K. 466 and no. 21, K. 467 under Maestro Christian Zacharias with the Kammerorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks.

The Foreigner

In a rural fishing lodge in Georgia, Froggy LeSueur, a British demolitions expert who sometimes runs training sessions at a nearby military installation, is trying to put his friend, Charlie Baker at ease. Charlie, a proofreader whose wife finds him boring, has come along for a much needed getaway. The problem is he is pathologically shy and is terrified at the prospect of having to converse with strangers at the lodge for three days.
